The Dog Tag
The Id card which we are made to wear around our necks is what I am referring to. I do not wear it usually coz to me it is a dog tag...
But yesterday I went to one of the older blocks of the campus which is the Administrative block and one of the senior folks from facilities Mr ScrewBall, kept staring at me as I walked past him to meet the guy from the travel department and when I was finished with him this Mr Screwball stops me and asks me to produce my Id card, I show it to him and he asks me to flaunt it when I am in the campus and I tell him that my tag is broken and lo he gives me a new tag....
This Mr Screwball is one of the senior guys in the company and has lacs in the form of stock options and wud be earning more than me for doing such petty things.
I remember this screwball was not able to arrange an accomodation for me in the campus when my project demanded me to be available on call 24X7.
Yeah I've started deviating but getting back to the point.
My reasons for not wearing the card
a) It feels like a dog tag.
b) Tom's, Dick's and Harry's should not be able read your name when in the elevator with any of them.
c) It is an easy way to get to know the name of the girl you have a crush on. I donn like it when ppl find an easy way out.
d) It gives people something to fiddle with when they are nervous esp women.
e) When you get into a fight someone can pull you by the tag.
The reasons may be stupid, altogether outrageous and the last one most improbable, but they are my reasons.
Can anyone tell me what is the reason we are forced to wear it, I am not yet convinced about why I have to wear it and move around..
